Cycling U.S.  Albuquerque

Albuquerque in the Summer is hot but dry. The heat is not as intense as it might be in a more humid environment, and cycling was fairly comfortable. Heading East from the city center is always uphill heading toward the mesa. Sandia peak sits atop the Mesa with a gorgeous ride up the scenic highway.  If planning for the Sandia Peak ride be sure to leave early as you'll have to ascend from the back of the mesa. Allow yourself a few days to acclimate to the elevation of ABQ if you can or you'll be out of breath with no leg power for most of the ride.
