Cycling U.S. Fort Collins, Colorado
Cycling a city can always be a challenge; dealing with pedestrians, traffic lights, traffic laws, and traffic itself. Fort Collins has created a unique experience in inner city cycling with its dedicated commuter paths throughout the city. There are plenty of places to cycle just outside the city; Horsetooth reservoir has a challenging lead-up climb and some wonderful rolling hills in the surrounding area. But, if you're just in the city for some sightseeing and don't have a bike, rent one at a local shop or brewery and take a spin around FC. The paths are smooth and well paved and will take you to many of the most popular areas in the city. The paths go under the roads and wind through the suburban areas and are so removed from traffic that at times you may feel a bit lost. The bike lanes on the roads are marked well and drivers seem to acknowledge the lane and leave room for cyclists. So... no excuses not to get out and give the bike a go. Some Fort Collins accommodations even provide them free of charge.
