Cycling China: Tibet
The Epic Tibet trip through Ride Now Cycle Club (based in Shanghai) was just that; epic in every way. The country, culture, food, terrain, climbs, views, friendships... and of course cycling at over 5000m. Cycling the China National Highway (G318), which runs from Shanghai to Zhangmu on the China-Nepal border, unveils some amazingly stunning views on a grand scale. Throw in a few epic climbs and downhill switchbacks on Gyatso La and Gya Wu La passes and you'll almost feel as though your Tibetan experience is complete. But don't leave without at least catching site of the great Chomolungma (Mt. Everest) - truly an epic site. Finish off your journey with a tour of the Potala Palace and a Burger King meal at the airport.
