Cycling U.S. Seattle to Portland 2017
The STP (Seattle to Portland) is a 202 mile (325 kilometer) annual event that takes place in the Spring. The route flows South from Seattle through Puyallup, Parkland, Roy, down to Centralia for the halfway mark. Many participants opt for the two-day event and will stay in Centralia or camp in designated areas a bit further South. The route continues South to the Longview bridge crossover into Oregon and follows the river down into Portland. Although the route is not incredibly hilly, you will pick up quite a bit of elevation gain on the rolling hills throughout the ride. There are numerous support stations along the route with Motorcycle safety patrols. If you are planning to finish in one day be sure to take extra bike lights.
